Production Associate – Rebar

Job Summary
Operate rebar cutting, bending, and fabrication equipment safely to cut, bend, and process reinforcing steel according to customer specifications. Monitor production output, inspect raw materials and finished products for quality, and organize completed bundles for staging or delivery. Review fabrication sheets and work orders to ensure accurate processing while maintaining efficiency and minimizing waste. Perform routine equipment inspections, basic preventative maintenance, and report malfunctions immediately. Move materials using forklifts and other handling equipment, assist with inventory counts, and follow all safety policies and OSHA requirements. Work in a fast-paced industrial environment, standing for extended periods, lifting heavy steel, and performing physically demanding tasks throughout the shift.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic mathematical calculations accurately
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication sheets, bar lists, work orders, and technical instructions
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate production equipment safely
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift
- Ability to frequently lift, move, and handle heavy reinforcing steel and materials using safe lifting techniques or mechanical assistance
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform physically demanding work throughout the day
- Ability to work overtime, Saturdays, or extended hours based on production schedules and customer demand
- Exposure to machinery, noise, dust, vibration, steel products, and varying indoor and outdoor temperatures
- Experience in rebar fabrication, steel fabrication, manufacturing, warehouse operations, or construction environments
- Experience operating rebar fabrication equipment, cutting equipment, bending machines, or similar production machinery
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
- Familiarity with production schedules, quality control processes, and inventory management
- Experience working in reinforcing steel or construction materials manufacturing
- Ability to work in a manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, and industrial production environment
