Job Summary
Conduct batch production for asphalt sealers by reading formulas, measuring raw materials, and operating mixers, tanks, and forklifts. Monitor product consistency, complete batch documentation, and stage materials while performing preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and routine housekeeping. Clean tanks, mixers, and transfer equipment, including seasonal confined-space tank cleanouts using appropriate PPE. Follow all safety procedures for industrial machinery, hot work, and respirator requirements. This role involves a hands-on manufacturing environment in Romulus with a stable career path at an industry leader in pavement preservation products.
Required Qualifications
- Manufacturing or industrial production experience involving batching, blending, mixing, coatings, adhesives, asphalt, concrete, cement, or similar process manufacturing
- Experience following batch cards, formulas, recipes, or production instructions
- Strong math skills and attention to detail
- A proven commitment to quality standards and safe work practices
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to recognize equipment or process issues
- Initiative, dependability, strong time management, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Lift and move up to 50–75 pounds
- Stand, walk, bend, climb, and work around production equipment throughout the shift
- Safely operate around industrial machinery and moving equipment
- Wear required PPE, including the ability to successfully complete respirator medical evaluations, fit testing, and training
- Work in confined spaces and perform physically demanding tasks while following all established safety procedures
- Conducting background checks, employee eligibility verifications, and schedule pre-hire screening requirements, including but not limited to drug testing and physicals
