Job Summary
Set up and operate powder coat equipment to exacting specifications, ensuring items are properly hung on conveyor hooks and removing parts when unavailable. Inspect coated items for coverage and coating thickness, resolving quality and mechanical problems through minor repairs and adjustments. Maintain equipment for safety compliance, including guarding, and prepare parts for rework to correct coating defects. Work from established schedules and specifications while assisting and training parts hangers. Requires good mechanical skills, troubleshooting abilities, and the capacity to lift 40 lbs in a facility involving powder coat materials and cleaning chemicals.
Required Qualifications
- Good mechanical skills including the use of hand tools
- Good troubleshooting skills such that after a reasonable training period, the employee will be able to evaluate operational problems of the equipment and know the proper corrective actions
- Ability to read and understand equipment operating, maintenance, and troubleshooting manuals
- Frequent standing, walking, carrying, lifting, stooping, and crouching
- Work with powder coat materials and cleaning chemicals
- Lift 40 lbs
