Job Summary
Medical device assembler in a cleanroom at Johnson & Johnson, responsible for assembling, inspecting, and testing high-quality medical devices in a controlled manufacturing system. Performs in-process quality checks on subassemblies and finished products, uses small hand tools, calibrated instruments, microscopes, and test fixtures. Maintains accurate records and documentation (quality, work in progress, test results, labor, and special projects). Participates in line meetings, collaborates with engineers and technicians to resolve issues and suggest improvements, and adheres to clean room practices, GMP/QSR, and FDA regulations. Must read, write, and speak English, have basic math skills, and be available for 1st or 2nd shift. Required: high school diploma or equivalent and microscope-based experience in a medical device environment. Preferred: knowledge of lean, six sigma, kaizen, continuous improvement; GDP/GMP experience; soldering/inspection experience. The role emphasizes manufacturing procedures, line clearance, and accurate documentation while supporting a safe and compliant work environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- At least one year of intensive microscope-based experience in a medical device environment
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to work with small plastic and metal components in a high-volume manufacturing setting
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to utilize basic math skills
- Execute tasks in a timely manner under general supervision
- Computer literacy required, working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite desired
