Job Summary
Operate shop machines for laminating, slitting, die-cutting, and assembly of foam, rubber, metal, graphite, cork-fiber, and fiberglass products while adhering to standard work methods and safety protocols. Read blueprints, drawings, and job orders to set up dies and equipment, adjust settings to maximize productivity, and accurately record labor and material usage in the ERP system. Detect defective materials, report questionable conditions, and communicate process improvements within the team. Maintain a clean workstation following the 5S system and embrace a collaborative attitude aligned with company core values. Work the first shift Monday through Thursday from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm with overtime scheduled as needed, including mandatory Friday and Saturday work.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent
- 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing/shipping environment
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, expectations, and procedures in manufacturing
- Ability to read and perform basic math skills, including counting
- Ability to use various tools including tape measure, dial caliper, and other hand tools
- Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken
- Basic reading skills for understanding drawings, Job Orders, and specs
- Ability to follow directions
- Strong manual dexterity
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility for an entire shift
- Employees subject to random drug and alcohol testing
- Must be able to work as part of a team or independently with limited supervision
