Job Summary
Load and unload high-pressure and liquid cylinders on and off trucks in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Inspect cylinders prior to filling for surface defects, dents, cracks, and burns, then segregate defective units. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and chain hoists to move cylinders to designated areas, ensuring they are strapped in securely. Remove old labels and clean cylinders before processing. Perform minor equipment maintenance and adhere to all safety standards, OSHA rules, and hazardous material handling procedures. Work the 2nd shift (1pm-9:30pm) Monday through Friday at the Hingham, MA plant.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree or GED
- Mechanical aptitude
- A minimum of 1 year of related technical experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent
- Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, procedures which are applicable to this position's responsibilities
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience utilizing SAP or similar ERP system
- Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications
