Job Summary

Inspect extruded products for appearance and size defects, conduct functional feature tests, and route, cut, square, band, heat seal, and label bundles per B.O.M. standards. Operate fabrication equipment including routers, gang saws, and heat tunnels while managing color and product die changes. Assemble bundles, maintain proper packing patterns and counts, and communicate product quality issues and line status to supervisors and shift colleagues. Perform housekeeping, assist with equipment maintenance, and float to relieve other associates as needed.

Required Qualifications

6 months or more Production/Manufacturing experience
Must be able to read draft drawings
Must be able to read, write and perform basic math skills as job duties require
Must possess common sense, positive attitude, and demonstrate excellent attendance
Must be quality and safety conscious
Must be a team player
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
Must have excellent manual dexterity
Must be able to concentrate for sustained periods
Must have good communication skills
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Must be at least 18 years of age to apply
Must be able to perform all duties and responsibilities in a safe manner in accordance with applicable Health and Safety Manuals

Must be able to maintain work zones' cleanliness and safety
Must be able to work with Production Associate 2 on optimizing workflow in the fabrication department
Must be able to float to relieve other Production Associate 1s for breaks
Must be able to punch time clock before and after shift to record time worked
Must be able to observe health and safety practices when handling start-ups/shutdown strips
Must be able to maintain supplies at the workstation
Must be able to communicate with Material Handler(s) to move full bundles
Must be able to assist with training of temporaries and new hires in Production Associate 1 positions
Must be able to set up and operate Fabrication Department Equipment: Routers, CMM Gang saw, Tiger Saw, Heat tunnel, notchers, and Crimpers
Must be able to discard unacceptable profiles in Scrap Rack
Must be able to identify a product that is jammed up in the production line and assist as necessary
Must be able to identify that line is going down and assist as necessary
Must be able to assist with color and product die changes
Must be able to perform line shut down tasks
Must be able to communicate with previous and following shifts' Production Associates about product quality, problems, and status of work in progress
Must be able to complete accurately and legibly all line packaging-related paperwork
Must be able to identify product not being routed or cut to spec in accordance with the line check sheet
Must be able to identify product out of spec and able to repackage in proper patterns, color, and count
Must be able to visually inspect extruded products for consistent appearance and length according to defined standards
Must be able to ensure product consistency and standards including but not limited to proper counts, packing patterns, packing enclosures, and carton construction and labels
Must be able to pack finished products into bundles
Must be able to route, cuts, sores, and boxes products in accordance with B.O.M.'s
Must be able to maintain paperwork as required
Must be able to visually inspect the extruded product for appearance and size defects according to specifications
Must be able to conduct recurrent tests/inspections of products' functional features
Must be able to notify appropriate personnel (Production Associate 3s and 4s, Manufacturing Shift Supervisor) of product defects
Must be able to assemble bundles for packaging
Must be able to ensure proper packing patterns, product counts, and package enclosures
Must be able to ensure that all parts and pieces are in there place in all box programs
Must be able to square, band, heat seal and label the packed bundles
Must be able to identify product not being routed or cut to spec in accordance with the line check sheet
Must be able to identify product out of spec and able to repackage in proper patterns, color, and count
Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled facility
Must be able to wear hearing protection, safety glasses, use of a tape measure, sawing glove, hack saw, packing gloves, stamp and stamp pad
