Job Summary
Production Assistant supports daily manufacturing operations by assisting with material handling, work order preparation, production coordination, and general shop floor support. Responsibilities include preparing, organizing, and staging materials; supporting machine operators, welders, fitters, or assemblers; tracking work orders and production paperwork; performing basic inspections to verify parts meet quality specifications; assisting with inventory counts, material movement, and labeling; maintaining a clean, safe work area; communicating production status, delays, or material shortages to supervisors; and adhering to safety rules and PPE requirements. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year manufacturing experience preferred, ability to read and understand production instructions in English, basic computer skills, attention to detail, and forklift/equipment certifications as applicable.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
- Must pass company administered tape measuring skills test
- Experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial equipment preferred
- Ability to read, write, and understand work instructions, safety procedures, and production documentation in English required
- Basic computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Must maintain forklift and/or other required equipment certifications
