Job Summary
Perform routine mechanical and electromechanical assembly of small parts and components following written instructions and procedures. Review shop traveler/route cards or simple schematic drawings to confirm correct sequence of operation, then position very small parts under a binocular microscope using tweezers or fixtures. Adjust, bend, align, and solder fine wires to resistors and base parts, while bonding or sealing parts/assemblies with epoxies using heating elements or ovens and performing in-process testing. Follow all safety policies and procedures and maintain regular, consistent attendance. Work the 1st Shift 4/10 schedule (M–Th | 5:00am–3:30pm) at the onsite facility in Simi Valley, CA, with support for additional assigned tasks including possible nights, weekends, or variable schedules as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in assembly or related work
- Effective communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to identify issues and address them using existing procedures
- Ability and willingness to learn new tasks and processes
- Good mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and ability to operate hand tools and light machinery
- Basic math skills and ability to read/interpret safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies, and procedures
- Support additional assigned tasks, including possible nights, weekends, or variable schedules as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Vocational training, apprenticeship, or equivalent related experience
- Adaptability and a demonstrated willingness to learn new things
