Job Summary
The Production Artist is responsible for executing various art production tasks including pre-flight checks, file manipulations according to customer specifications, and ensuring compliance with regulatory specifications. They will work with product definitions from sales and project managers, adjust artwork to meet print requirements, and maintain organized digital files. Attention to detail is crucial for verifying supplied materials, checking colors, and preparing output proofs for customer review.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, understand and follow work instructions, specifications, workflow diagrams and SOPs
- Responsible for ensuring that all artworks are saved in designated file locations on the server
- Participate in process improvement efforts
- Possess ability to learn and develop within a team
- Check customer supplied files when starting a new job
- Ensure that job instructions are aligned to artwork supplied
- Verify colors used and check the resolution of any CT's
- Receive product definitions from sales, project managers or production managers
- Manipulate files to match customer specs
- Adjust art to meet minimum type and line thickness
- Assign color builds and Pantone ink swatches to art elements
- Apply art to printer supplied die drawing
- Create line extension mechanical art from supplied brief or supplied elements
- Files must be organized to follow defined job folder and server structure
