Job Summary
Develop and demonstrate deep product knowledge of electrical and data communication supplies to assist outside sales in growing revenue. Proactively identify sales opportunities through phone, email, and in-person meetings, then conduct demonstrations and presentations to showcase value propositions. Build strong relationships with customers and key suppliers by addressing inquiries, managing objections, and recommending suitable products. Lead and support sales efforts with key targets and opportunities in assigned regions while assisting branches with technical support and training. Analyze market potential to develop annual business plans and lead execution with local technical, sales, and management teams.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of sales experience
- Electrical distribution industry or related experience
- High School or GED
- Product and application knowledge
- Ability to effectively communicate with outside sales staff, customers, and co-workers
- Ability to prioritize and organize job tasks
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations required to accurately complete assigned tasks
- Ability and willingness to pitch in and help others and work in a team-based environment
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Excellent negotiation skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to drive decisions with influence
- Customer oriented and motivated with excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Intermediate/advanced computer skills, specifically with Excel/Outlook/Word
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position - Constantly – at least 51%
- Must be able to move about inside/outside office or work location - Frequently – 21% to 50%
- Must be able to crouch down to stock shelves, pick up boxes, or position oneself to maintain computers in the lab/under desks/in server closet - Occasionally – up to 20%
- Must be able to ascend/descend on a ladder, forklift, pallet jack, or other warehouse equipment - Occasionally – up to 20%
- Must be able to use senses to effectively communicate with co-workers and clients and detect hazardous conditions - Constantly – at least 51%
- Up to 10 pounds - Occasionally – up to 20%
- Exposed to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and/or exposure to heat and cold - Occasionally – up to 20%
- Travels to offsite locations - Occasionally – up to 20%
