Job Summary
Shimadzu is seeking a Product Specialist to create technical marketing materials and documents for sales, provide training, and offer installation and maintenance support for Molecular Spectroscopy operations. You will enhance product positioning, engage directly with clients, and collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Service, and Regional staff. Responsibilities include developing demonstration strategies, presenting products to customers, gathering competitive information, creating sales support documentation, evaluating market needs to propose hardware/software solutions, and delivering technical training while maintaining instruments in application laboratories and supporting qualification tests. Travel is required. A Bachelor’s degree in a life science field is required, with two years of experience in molecular spectroscopy instruments and related maintenance/repair; growth opportunities exist to upgrade roles with salary adjustments. Also supports training and materials development for customers and Shimadzu employees, and coordinates with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a life science field
- Minimum of two years of experience in technical applications or method development with Molecular Spectroscopy instruments (UV-Vis, FTIR, Fluorescence, Raman, or NMR)
- Experience in maintenance and repair of analytical instrumentation; marketing and sales experience are highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail, exceptional customer service skills, and a dependable work ethic
- Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays
