Job Summary

Drive new business development by identifying opportunities, creating target lists, and prospecting within the west coast territory in partnership with Account Managers. Serve as the subject matter expert for the PQIS and Books portfolio, articulating value propositions to librarians, faculty, and collection development teams to support teaching, learning, and research goals. Lead customer meetings, product demonstrations, and strategic sales discussions while qualifying priority opportunities and executing account plans. Manage pricing, proposal development, and specialty product forecasting, utilizing Salesforce to maintain accurate pipeline data and enter new activity. Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities across the broader Academic & Government portfolio, leveraging AI-powered tools to improve productivity and sales effectiveness. Full-time, remote role with up to 30% travel; base salary $88,000-$105,000 USD plus sales incentives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading demonstrations, trainings, or presentations, articulating value propositions for specialty product(s) and responding to inquiries about product functionality
  • 5+ years of technology and/or online content sales
  • Full-time, permanent
  • Remote role with a focus selling on the west coast in the US
  • Up to 30% travel is required
  • Occasional off-hours may be required
  • Normal business hours (with occasional off-hours)
  • US Only
  • $88,000 - $105,000 USD per year
  • Sales incentive earnings
  • Pay based upon experience, education, skill and ability, expertise, and relevant factors

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience selling into the academic library community
  • Experience selling scholarly content, including databases, ebooks, primary sources, streaming media, and research solutions
  • Knowledge of academic library acquisition models, including subscriptions
  • Experience using AI and emerging technologies to improve productivity and business outcomes
