Product Safety Specialist

Job Summary
Product Safety Specialist at Thales responsible for safety analysis across radar systems and related products. Skills include hazard analysis, risk assessment, and development of safety requirements and mitigations. You will define and maintain safety cases and hazard logs, perform fault tree analyses, and coordinate with electrical, mechanical, software, and IVVQ engineers to ensure safety acceptance criteria are met. You will contribute to the quotation/specification/design phases, translate customer requirements into safety system requirements, and produce safety verification evidence and safety assessment reports. Standards and regulations to apply include IEC 61508, IEC 62368-1, MIL-STD-882, LVD, REACH, and RoHS. The role supports a hybrid work model (2 days remote per week when role allows) and involves international collaboration, travel considerations, and potential security clearance. The ideal candidate holds a engineering degree and multiple years of safety engineering experience, with strong analytical, conceptual, and communication skills, and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
Required Qualifications
- Has a completed HBO, WO, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an Engineering domain
- worked for several years in a safety engineering context
- familiar with safety standards IEC 61508, IEC 62368-1, MIL-STD-882
- familiar with safety legislation LVD, REACH and RoHS
- thorough system engineering knowledge and knowledge in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, software engineering and/or system testing
- Dutch nationality is required due to security and defense project regulations
- security screening (AIVD-B) is mandatory
- Fluent in Dutch and English
