Job Summary
Leads the Plant Product Quality Council processes to improve quality, reduce warranty payments, and enhance customer satisfaction across multiple plants or a business unit. Directs multiple teams that plan, track, and report on delivered quality and reliability of products or subsystems produced in a plant. Addresses issues raised through corrective action requests, supplier corrective action requests, or nonconforming materials reports in a timely, cost-effective manner. Solves highly complex quality issues as they are escalated and establishes processes and tools to prevent failures. Builds networks with other Product Quality Council Leaders to understand trends, solve cross-business unit quality challenges, and coaches resources to achieve short- and long-term goals. Identifies emerging problems, prioritizes containment with product quality teams, ensures adequate resources are available, and drives on-time delivery and cost containment. Develops, leads, and mentors teams focused on product quality and improvement, and reviews post-implementation exercises to leverage strengths across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Experience directing multi-team quality initiatives
- Ability to plan, track, and report on product quality and reliability across plants
- Familiarity with corrective action requests (CARs), supplier corrective action requests (SCARs), and nonconforming materials reports (NCMRs)
- Strong problem-solving skills for highly complex quality issues
- Ability to establish processes and tools to prevent failures
- Experience mentoring and developing quality teams
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
- Post-implementation review and continuous improvement experience
