Product Quality Manager

Job Summary
Manage the Product Quality Control team for Switchgear and PowerGen systems at the DI Campus, leading supervisors and team leads on weekly goals, quality alerts, and shift assignments. Enforce quality assurance policies to ensure manufactured products meet inspection criteria and design documents while driving measurable reductions in defects per unit (DPU). Act as a catalyst for timely decisions on non-conformities, ensuring sign-off from Engineering and Production Leadership, and maintain a feedback loop to correct defects originating in the production process. Report quality findings to leadership during monthly reviews and participate in internal quality system audits. Coach and mentor staff to develop inspection capabilities and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rework and meet shipment commitments.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience in roles related to quality assurance and/or product testing
- 2+ years' direct management experience of a quality or testing team
- Product knowledge and experience in the operating of electrical switchgear and reciprocating engine-generator sets
- Practical, hands-on experience in troubleshooting manufacturing defects and/or deficiencies in electrical equipment and reciprocating generator sets
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical assembly drawings, Weld and Coating symbols, work instructions, and written directions
- Demonstrated competency with basic quality control processes
- Ability to read and communicate in English
- Limited travel (Less than 10%)
- Local travel between sites DI-Durham and DI-Randleman may be required
- Ability to work in an office environment with a lot of sitting and tolerate a full day of computer screen viewing

Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience with manufacturing ERP systems (SAP or IFS preferred)

- Drive in process quality improvements to reduce rework
