Product Quality Improvement Specialist

Job Summary
Commission new drilling equipment by supporting mechanical and electrical setup, calibrating parameters, and conducting functional testing to ensure design specifications and safety standards are met before handover. Liaise between the Product Company and Customer Company to close the Field-to-Product feedback loop, analyzing defects and implementing root cause corrective actions. Train operators on advanced drilling techniques, tooling, and strict adherence to manufacturing procedures to reduce waste and ensure first-pass approval. Document all test results and drilling data for commissioning dossiers while maintaining ISO 9001 compliance. This role requires 50% or more traveling to global customer locations for start-ups and commissioning support.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience operating and commissioning heavy drilling rigs or industrial drill presses
- Strong knowledge of QC tools: FMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA
- Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in drilling operations
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues under pressure
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (PIDs)
- Strict adherence to safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to report to project management and train operators
- Bachelor's Degree
- 50% or more traveling to various customer locations globally
- Ability to work within a team environment and also autonomously when required
- Ability to work well under pressure and conduct a professional approach in the face of adversity
- Understands effective root cause analysis the need to drive action
- Ability to communicate well with customers at all levels
- Have a continual improvement mentality and constant pursuance of improvement
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
- Must wear Hard Hat or Bump Cap
- Must wear Safety Glasses & Steel Toe Shoes
