Job Summary
Product Owner for AI Platforms & Vision Systems at Tactacam to lead AI capabilities via third-party partnerships and drive integration into internal systems and customer-facing products. Own the AI platform roadmap across computer vision and broader AI features (language-based systems, multimodal experiences, intelligent automation). Lead day-to-day collaboration with external AI partners (model providers, MLOps platforms) and define scalable integration patterns (APIs, data pipelines, inference workflows). Partner with engineering teams across software, hardware, and firmware to deliver services and SDKs enabling AI-powered functionality across applications, devices, and internal tools. Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify high-impact AI opportunities; write user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specs; manage backlog prioritization and agile ceremonies. Define and track product/model performance metrics; lead model evaluation efforts; ensure responsible data collection, governance, and privacy considerations. Work with UX, Marketing, Customer Support, and Operations to shape AI-driven capabilities and feedback loops. Support vendor evaluation and ongoing management; stay current on AI/vision/LLM advancements and translate capabilities into product opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or related field (preferred but not required)
- 3–5 years of Product Owner (or similar) experience
- At least 1 year hands-on experience with AI/ML-powered products including computer vision and/or LLM use cases
- Experience shipping AI-driven features from concept to production
- Experience working with large language models in a product setting (prompt design, RAG, tool/function calling)
- Experience evaluating third-party AI vendors or foundation model providers
- Solid understanding of core AI/ML concepts (training, fine-tuning, prompting; evaluation metrics)
- Experience defining API contracts and integrating external services
- Familiarity with model evaluation workflows (labeled datasets, test cases)
- Strong written communication for product specs, user stories, and stakeholder updates
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making
- Ability to influence engineering, data, design, and business stakeholders
- Hands-on experience with computer vision applications (object detection, image classification, video analysis)
- Experience building or integrating multimodal AI features (vision + language)
- Experience applying AI to improve customer experiences or internal operations
- Familiarity with MLOps tools, dataset curation, data labeling workflows
- Experience with edge or on-device inference, mobile AI integration, or IoT/devices
- Experience tuning model outputs for balance of accuracy, UX, and operational impact
- Background in consumer technology or connected devices
