Job Summary
Define and deliver a data-informed product strategy and roadmap for underwriting and product capabilities within Zurich's SME General Insurance business. Prioritise opportunities balancing customer value, business outcomes, and the reduction of legacy complexity while driving improvements to underwriting processes, referral optimisation, and data integration. Partner with underwriting, technology, and delivery teams to translate business needs into clear product direction and manage the backlog for high-value initiatives. Lead delivery across complex initiatives with dependencies across multiple squads, engaging stakeholders to ensure alignment between business and technical teams. This hands-on role operates across broker platforms and connectivity ecosystems to modernise the technology landscape and enable seamless digital experiences.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Product Owner within general insurance
- Ideally with exposure to underwriting environments or SME portfolios
Desired Qualifications
- An understanding of underwriting processes, including referral rules, risk assessment and rating logic
- Experience working with underwriting or broker platforms, or equivalent competitor systems, with a ability to quickly transfer that knowledge
- Ability to operate across both product and analysis, including shaping requirements and stepping into BA level responsibilities where needed
- Comfort working in multi squad environments, managing dependencies and driving outcomes across interconnected teams
- Balanced commercial and technical mindset, with a focus on delivering business outcomes rather than purely technical solutions
