Job Summary
Own the vision and roadmap for the Merchant services experience, prioritizing the squad backlog against customer needs, business value, and regulatory requirements. Lead discovery and delivery of new initiatives while balancing desirability, feasibility, and viability. Collaborate with the Head of Product and Scrum Master to define acceptance criteria, set sprint goals, and manage stakeholder expectations to protect team focus. Make day-to-day decisions to enable progress, ensure customer experience protection, and validate features through UAT/BVT. Represent the customer voice in developing the product roadmap and challenging the status quo to drive meaningful outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7+ years experience in Banking including at least 2+ years Product Owner experience
- Detailed knowledge of financial services and the Credit Card lifecycle from both a consumer, merchant, issuing and acquiring stand point
- 7-8 years of experience mobilising and supporting cross functional and self managing teams across multiple providers to accomplish outcomes
- Experience working with agile ways or working and familiarity with human centred design techniques
- Ability to create and convey a vision to key stakeholders and teams, developing it into a shaped backlog of key features, user stories and goals in line with domain cadence
- Comfortable playing a leadership role, including leading workshops through the discovery, development and operational usage stages of development
- Ability to innovate, adapt and grasp new skills and content
- Proven analytical skills and evidence based decision making
- Project delivery and knowledge of the software development cycle
- Leadership of a high performing squad
- Strong business acumen, critical thinking, analytical and data driven decision making skills
- Structured problem solving mindset focusing on a test and learn approach Product over project mindset
- Tertiary qualified with a Degree in Finance or Business
Desired Qualifications
- preference to post graduate qualifications
- Experience with human centred design, product story telling and product leadership
- Familiar with tooling such as Clarity, Grace, Confluence, Figma, Fiserv product suite and frontline banking systems
