Product Manager/ Technologist - Manufacturing & Construction

Job Summary

Lead product development from concept through production, developing specifications, technical documentation, and design requirements for innovative building systems. Translate market needs into engineering solutions while driving continuous improvement for performance, manufacturability, and cost. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and manufacturing partners to execute design reviews, prototyping, testing, and implementation. Ensure compliance with building codes and standards while optimizing production processes and promoting design-for-manufacturing principles. Collaborate with clients and contractors to support construction activities and field reviews. Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in product development, engineering, architecture, or construction
  • Professional registration (P.Eng., Registered Architect, or equivalent) with the ability to approve and seal designs where applicable
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary product development initiatives
  • Strong understanding of building science, building systems, and modern construction methods
  • Knowledge of structural systems, structural steel, and integrated building systems
  • Experience developing prototypes and innovative building products
  • Proficiency with BIM, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other design software
  • Experience preparing technical specifications and construction documentation
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, physics, and structural design
  • Experience with budgeting, cost estimating, and project planning
  • Creative and innovative problem solver
  • Strong technical leadership and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams
  • Passion for continuous improvement and product innovation

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with industrialized construction, modular construction, prefabrication, or advanced manufacturing
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Industrialized construction, Modular or prefabricated construction, Structural steel design, Product engineering, Advanced manufacturing, Building systems innovation, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Research & Development (R&D)
