Job Summary

Conduct discovery research through user interviews, literature reviews, and analytics to synthesize findings and communicate them to the team. Participate in assumption mapping and run experiments with Design, Product Analytics, and Engineering. Capture enhancement requests in the backlog, identify root problems, and prioritize opportunities using scoring models. Develop and evangelize a one-year product strategy and roadmap aligned with the portfolio, breaking initiatives into epics and stories with clear acceptance criteria. Coordinate with engineering to create sprint backlogs based on priority, effort, and dependencies, while tracking progress and notifying stakeholders of delays. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to unblock dependencies and prepare release notes for product rollouts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience in product management
  • 3+ years product management and/or product design
  • 3+ years managing complex initiatives from initiation to completion using product management processes and best practices
  • Experience in defining and implementing product metrics to track performance and success
  • Experience handling all stages of product delivery
  • Experience representing various customers and stakeholders during planning
  • Solid understanding of basic P&C insurance technology, including their functionality, limitations, advantages, and future direction
  • Basic understand of the insurance technology ecosystem including common integrations and dependencies
  • Skilled at managing products with an active development roadmap
  • Proficient at influencing your product team and cross-functional business teams using earned leadership and strong communication skills
  • Experience working in agile software delivery
  • Able to develop and present complex problems in a straightforward way
  • Exceptional verbal, oral, and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in working with rating platform and rules engine
  • 2+ years experience in building software platforms in insurance for business-critical functions such as rating, underwriting, and insurance configuration
  • 1+ years of advanced knowledge of Guidewire product models specifically working on Guidewire Policy Center, with knowledge of its function in underwriting/sales workflows, policy rating, rules engine, and Guidewire product models
  • 2+ years experience working with Property & Casualty insurance platform
