Job Summary
Own the product roadmap for the scientific model platform, defining and prioritizing models, features, and capabilities that enable scientists to run inference fast, reliably, and cost-effectively. Define intuitive UI and API experiences that allow computational users to execute high-throughput runs and analyze results, translating customer needs into clear engineering requirements. Work directly with customers to ideate use cases, gather feedback, and drive adoption of scientific AI models across diverse research teams. Partner with engineering, legal, strategy, and sales to evolve product development and go-to-market practices as the field matures. This role focuses on rapid iteration and customer obsession within the Model Hub team, supporting Benchling's mission to rebuild biotech for the AI era.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of product management experience building technical or platform products
- Experience in scientific, ML/AI, or other data-intensive domains
- Technical fluency: ability to read API specs
- Ability to reason about system tradeoffs
- Ability to have credible conversations with engineers about how scientific models are built and served
- Strong analytical skills
- Comfort using data to drive product decisions
- Ability to measure and grow adoption and usage
- Collaborative mindset
- Ability to work closely with engineers, scientists, and partners across legal, strategy, and GTM
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle shifting priorities
- Experience with rapid experimentation
