Job Summary
Define and manage the product roadmap for POS systems and retail management software, translating business requirements into technical specifications and user stories. Monitor Italian fiscal regulations and collaborate with tax consultants to ensure hardware and software compliance with the Agenzia delle Entrate. Partner with engineering and UX teams to drive Agile releases, optimize checkout interfaces, and support sales and customer success teams with documentation. Conduct market research and competitive analysis on POS players in the Italian market to identify emerging trends in smart checkout and digital payments. Based in Milan, this role requires 7+ years of experience in POS or retail software and deep knowledge of Italian fiscal workflows.
Required Qualifications
- +7 years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner within the POS, retail/hospitality management software, or ERP solutions sector
- Deep understanding of Italian fiscal compliance workflows (Telematic Recorders, XML transmission files for daily revenues, electronic invoicing via the SDI - Sistema di Interscambio)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or equivalent practical experience
- Native or fluent in Italian (essential for analyzing national fiscal laws and communicating with local authorities)
- Professional working proficiency in English (for collaboration with international partners or global tech teams)
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with managing the lifecycle of physical checkout devices (fiscal printers, POS terminals) and their communication protocols/drivers (e.g., Xon/Xoff, industry standards)
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and product management tools (Jira, Confluence, Productboard)
- Proven ability to leverage quantitative and qualitative data to drive product decisions
- Exceptional attention to detail, which is critical when dealing with fiscal, accounting, and compliance logic
- Ability to articulate complex technical and regulatory concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
- A strong focus on the end-user (cashier, merchant, store manager) to understand and solve their daily operational pain points
