Job Summary
Own the product feature backlog by defining, prioritizing, and grooming epics and user stories that balance customer impact, strategic differentiation, and technical feasibility. Shape a rolling 12–18 month roadmap aligned with MIPS Atlas IP roadmaps, customer needs, and key design-in opportunities. Drive deep understanding of target users through usage analytics and beta programs, converting insights into requirements and measurable outcomes. Run agile ceremonies with cross-functional teams to deliver incremental value such as new performance reports, experiment workflows, and Python API capabilities. Define success metrics per feature using telemetry to iterate quickly, while coordinating early-access co-design with strategic customers and managing product communications. Collaborate with product marketing on value propositions driven by problems solved and figures of merit. This role thrives in a startup environment at the intersection of MIPS RISC-V processors, simulators, compilers, firmware, operating systems, and application software.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience as a software engineer
- Experience as the Technical Lead on more than 2 projects or programs
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager
- Experience bootstrapping a new product or technology initiative
- Strong technical fluency in Instruction Set Architectures
- Strong technical fluency in C/C++ compilers
- Strong technical fluency in semiconductor simulation solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
- Familiarity with AI inference and model runtime optimization
- Understanding of how AI-assisted tooling can enhance developer experience
- Experience with data visualization best practices or tools that translate complex performance data into clear actionable insights
- Understanding of state of the art methodologies for semiconductor design
- Understanding of state of the art methodologies for verification/validation
- Understanding of state of the art methodologies for virtual prototyping
- Understanding of state of the art methodologies for pre-RTL performance modeling workflows
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field from an accredited university
