Job Summary
Product Manager, Applied Research at Luma bridges frontier research and product delivery for multimodal AI across Canvas, Agents, and the model platform. The role sits between research and core products to ensure researchers’ work informs customers’ needs and that shipped features reflect research capabilities. You’ll shape priorities, build prototypes, interpret evaluation results, and translate research advances into marketable product capabilities. Requires principal-level product leadership with experience shipping research-originated products, strong technical depth to work with models, and the ability to drive research-to-product handoffs and cross-functional collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Principal or Staff-level product management experience (L6 seniority or above)
- Experience bridging research and product at an AI lab or applied AI company
- Ability to read papers, interpret evaluations, and translate research into product implications
- Prototype development experience with models (prompting, testing hypotheses)
- Comfort operating in a research environment and coordinating across research, product, GTM, and forward-deployed teams
