Product Management Director - Deposits

Job Summary

Drive and evolve the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for USAA's 'Safety Net' overdraft service, overdraft protection (ODP) feature, and other Deposit fees aligned to Bank priorities. Interpret performance results to inform product or sales forecast and planning while leading innovation in overdraft and fee offerings. Develop recommendations to launch new products, evaluate buy/build decisions, and act as the product SME to provide insights that improve business performance and regulatory compliance. Analyze product metrics to identify market opportunities, coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Risk partners to ensure adherence to laws like UDAAP and Reg E, and approve product communications. Partner with Marketing to define go-to-market strategies and collaborate with finance, operations, and digital teams to enhance the program.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or Statistics
  • 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
  • 6+ years of relevant industry experience in Consumer or Retail Banking, Marketing, Banking Sales and Service, Finance/Accounting, or Operations
  • 3+ years of Deposit product management, Deposit Fee / Revenue Management, or similar strategic management experience
  • Advanced analytical skills, with an interest and ability to monitor and routinely report on performance trends gleaned from the data
  • Experience telling stories leveraging data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau, Excel graphs, and Power Point summaries), with an ability to use AI to enhance the outcomes
  • Experience creating product briefings and presenting to executive leadership
  • Comfort in forming an opinion and defending it in the face of challenge or pushback
  • Experience setting annual performance plans for a product or service, and updating those during quarterly or more frequent forecasting windows
  • Confidence to acknowledge when performance has deviated from expectations, and being willing to adjust plans accordingly
  • Ability to work closely with partners from finance, operations, credit risk, marketing, digital and other areas to collaborate on performance and enhancements to the program
  • Experienced in market research to create product roadmaps, make product decisions and iterate rapidly
  • Knowledge of applicable Banking-industry laws, regulations, risk, and compliance requirements, specifically UDAAP, Reg E and others applying to overdraft / ODP and other deposit fees
  • Must be available for remote or hybrid flexibility for active-duty military spouses consistent with applicable policy and business needs
