Job Summary
Seams, hems, and installs grommets on printed vinyl billboard advertisements, banners, and signs according to job order specifications. Retrieve rolls of vinyl using a forklift, verify print quality, and report defects immediately to the Manager. Finish products with heat welders or sewing machines, add grommets and pockets, and prepare final items for shipment by folding, boxing, and labeling. Maintain the work area daily through sweeping, trash removal, tool storage, and equipment maintenance. Conduct basic troubleshooting, perform lock out/tag out procedures, and communicate machine downtime to the Manager. Attend weekly meetings to discuss production issues, delivery schedules, and cost-saving initiatives. Work in a warehouse environment lifting 25-45 pounds frequently and up to 80 pounds with a dolly. Requires forklift certification, heat welder and sewing machine skills, and a high school diploma.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Ability to perform physical work for up to 8 hours a day, plus overtime when necessary
- Ability to use, or willing to learn to use, heat welder, grommet machine, sewing machine, saws-all, and dolly
- Ability to drive a forklift
- Forklift Certification
- Attention to quality details
- High awareness of safety
- Microsoft Office and Internet Browser experience
- Flexibility to learn and perform other duties within the warehouse or print shop
- Must be able to lift approximately 25 - 45 pounds
- Must be able to push or pull up to 80 pounds with a dolly
- Must possess close, midrange, distance, and peripheral vision
- Must be able to identify colors
- Must be able to judge distances
- Must be able to adjust focus
- Must be able to give and receive information through speaking and listening
- Must be able to spend long periods of time standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or bending
