Job Summary
Spend significant time on the warehouse floor observing workflows and understanding pain points firsthand to translate learnings into clear problem framing, PRDs, and lightweight documentation. Own the roadmap for the internal warehouse platform (Phoenix) evolution while building and shipping features on the Ruby on Rails and React stack using AI-native engineering workflows. Confer regularly with the product team on roadmap overlap and bring prioritization tradeoffs to the Director of Engineering for final sign-off. Maintain documentation clear enough for teammates to pick up your work and act as a visible advocate for modern, AI-enabled engineering practices across the broader team. This embedded technical presence works onsite at the Fresno facility with remote days on Wednesdays, balancing full-stack delivery with direct accountability from stakeholder conversations to shipped code.
Required Qualifications
- Full-stack experience with Ruby on Rails and React in production
- Genuine, demonstrated fluency with AI-assisted engineering workflows
- Experience or strong interest in operational/warehouse environments
- Clear written communication
- Ability to work independently while staying coordinated with teammates in a different location and function
- Roughly half your week on the warehouse floor
- Use AI tooling to genuinely move faster
- Take full ownership of problems from conversation to shipped code
- Comfortable being the only embedded technical presence at your site
- Communicate clearly in writing
- Translate floor-level observations into specs others can act on
- Based on-site at the Fresno office
- Remote Wednesdays availability
