Job Summary
The Product Engineer Sustaining will collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to resolve product and process issues across the product lifecycle. Responsibilities include supporting NPI with cross-functional teams, designing 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for components, conducting DFMA/DFI/DTC reviews, driving cost-reduction through Value Engineering, approving tooling and manufacturing processes with FAI verification, leading root-cause analysis using 8D/5-Why/Fishbone, applying DOE and process capability studies to optimize performance, performing functional and reliability testing with Quality, qualifying tooling and jigs, monitoring field performance to drive improvements, and managing multiple projects with minimal supervision. Required skills emphasize statistical problem-solving methods, 8D/5-Why, Creo (preferred) or SolidWorks, GD&T, robotics/mechatronics interest, injection-molded part design, experience bringing products to high-volume manufacturing, and strong communication. Qualification noted: Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical Engineering, minimum 4 years in relevant high-volume environments; Malaysian applicant only.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 4 years of experience developing and launching consumer products, electro-mechanical devices, medical devices, automotive components, or similar in a high volume manufacturing environment
