Product Engineer (RF Systems Engineer)

Job Summary

Design and validate products by analyzing specifications, conducting experimental tests, and selecting components based on reliability criteria. Collaborate with planning, procurement, manufacturing, and engineering teams to develop cost-effective solutions for mobile backhaul, government, and enterprise customers globally. Execute oral and written presentations, project planning, design reviews, and reports for stakeholders while managing vendor capabilities and recommending equipment. Address complex issues involving variable factors, root cause identification, and MIL-STD requirements to ensure high-yield, reliable production components.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience designing, developing and production releasing of products
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Physics
  • Knowledge and experience of microwave (5-26.5 GHz) and/or millimeter wave (26.5-55 GHz) Traveling Wave Tube TWT products and technologies and cascaded RF chain design including Gain, Amplitude and phase flatness, Noise power, Intermodulation, spectral re-growth and noise power distortion, Phase noise, Spurious, Temperature and vibration induced issues
  • Knowledge and experience with: Specifying microwave components, Microwave/millimeter wave component vendors, Isolators, Filters, Waveguide Assemblies, Solid State Amplifiers, Linearizers, Cables
  • Knowledge and experience with: Phase noise, AM/AM & AM/PM, Phase matching
  • Knowledge and experience with: Power Amplifiers (>25 watts), Frequency converters (up and down), Low noise and medium power solid state amplifiers, PIN diode attenuators, Pre-distortion, Filters, Mixers, Coupler, Power combiners, Power dividers, Waveguide components and transitions
  • Knowledge and experience with: Mechanical packaging
  • Knowledge and experience with: Digital and analog control systems
  • Knowledge and experience with: Power supplies
  • Knowledge and experience with: Root cause identification
  • Knowledge and experience with: MIL-STD requirements and testing
  • Well-developed analytical and documentation skills
  • Solid practical experience base
  • Able and willing to work in a highly collaborative environment
  • Able and willing to do hands-on work
  • Able to appreciate and act on business-driven issues
  • Ability to manage projects and project teams
  • Good multi-tasking skills
  • History of successful product development and delivery
  • Able to make appropriate technology choices
  • Demonstrated track record of working closely with other team members in a fast-paced environment to bring development concepts into high-yield, reliable production components, assemblies and products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Qualifications

  • MS in electrical engineering or Physics preferred
