Job Summary

Design, develop, and release all electromechanical core lighting components, including interior lights, control modules, and heated cup holders. Develop standardization plans, write source packages and specifications, and utilize SPEOS lighting simulation tools. Manage supplier relationships to meet program timing, track root causes of pre-production or development build issues, and resolve problems prior to launch. Conduct warranty analysis for all components post-launch and maintain core lighting design practices. Collaborate with product design, vehicle development, and electrical engineering teams to integrate stakeholder requirements into final vehicle design.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Minimum of 8 years of Electrical Product Development
  • 5 years Product Design and Release experience in Automotive system and or components
  • experience including 3 years in Interior Lighting and Electrical Modules
  • Working knowledge of Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), PFMEA, Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R), CAE, GD&T, and i-Speed
  • Design and development experience in Team Center and NX
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point
  • Strong organizational, leadership and communication skills
  • Result oriented, energetic self-starting leader with ability to direct cross –functional teams

Desired Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and or MBA from an ABET accredited university
  • Knowledge of CAN/LIN bus and experience with circuit analysis
  • Knowledge in the measurement and design issues of lighting
  • Working knowledge of SPEOS Lighting simulation software by OPTIS
  • Experience developing Performance Standards
  • Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) using proactive quality tools
  • Experience with Shainin Red X and Kepner-Tregoe Reactive Problem solving tools
  • Experience in Automotive assembly plant and/or program launch
