Job Summary
Design, develop, integrate, and validate mechanical components and systems to ensure they meet performance, quality, and reliability requirements. Create and maintain 2D drawings and 3D CAD models while collaborating with Sales, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure designs are practical. Select appropriate materials, fits, and tolerances based on functional requirements. Manage design updates, establish testing requirements, and lead design reviews. Interface with Production and Tooling departments to ensure designs are efficient. Alert supervisors of issues impacting product value, safety, or quality, and communicate project progress to maintain common understanding. Meet established time standards for tasks and follow company procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 6+ years of mechanical/product design experience
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software
- Experience creating engineering drawings and applying GD&T standards
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, systems engineering, and manufacturing processes
- Ability to design complex mechanical systems, manage multiple projects, and solve technical problems independently
- Strong communication, analytical, and teamwork skills
- U.S. Citizenship, Permanent Residency or other appropriate status
- Subject to drug testing as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering degree
- Defense/firearms industry experience
- System-level engineering experience
- CNC machining knowledge
- Creo software proficiency
