Job Summary
Product Engineer at Hayes Performance Systems leads design, development, and continuous improvement of products used in powersports, agriculture, construction, and industrial applications. You will design, develop, and improve products to meet customer and business requirements, create engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation, lead NPI activities from prototyping to production launch, partner with manufacturing to improve performance and cost efficiency, investigate performance concerns and implement corrective actions, coordinate ECRs/ECOs, support testing and validation to ensure customer and regulatory compliance, and analyze production and quality data to identify opportunities for improvement. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering and 3–7 years of product engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, plus experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, AutoCAD), GD&T, and strong communication and project management skills. Bonus: PE or EIT, Lean/Six Sigma, ERP/PLM familiarity, ISO 9001 knowledge, and project management experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- 3–7 years of product engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting product development, new product introduction (NPI), and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering documentation, and product validation
- Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or AutoCAD
- Knowledge of GD&T
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
