Job Summary
Lead internal and external projects as the technical lead, managing all technical and schedule aspects throughout the production life cycle. Evaluate designs for manufacturability and drive development of new products into production. Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including instructions, routings, process specifications, and tooling, while creating Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA). Solve manufacturing problems, investigate process failures, and implement corrective actions by coordinating with production personnel, quality inspectors, and shop floor supervisors. Apply Lean methodologies to standard work, tooling, and process improvements, and develop automated test fixtures and manufacturing cell layouts. Act as the primary technical liaison between customers and EBAD during transitions from proposals to production.
Required Qualifications
- BS/MS in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering
- manufacturing or related engineering experience in multi-part mechanisms and mechanical assemblies
- 2+ years of experience as an Engineer in a fast-paced production environment
- CAD, 3-D modeling, assembly creation, drawings and GD&T
- Design of tooling and fixtures
- Design for Manufacturing methods and techniques
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
- Formal problem analysis and resolution
- Project management skills with the ability to document, plan, and execute programs
- Working with aerospace products and processes
- Knowledge of space vehicle mechanisms and systems
- Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing practices
- Enterprise/Manufacturing Resource Planning (ERP/MRP) systems
- MS Office– Excel, Word and Powerpoint
- Familiar with and able to work in MS Project
