Job Summary
Lead cross-functional teams to investigate yield excursions, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions using industry-standard methodologies. Own yield bridge activities for new product introduction and high-volume manufacturing transitions, performing complex data queries and statistical analyses to drive troubleshooting. Support daily production by solving real-time issues and analyzing failures on wafer fabrication and testing lines. Collaborate with R&D to advance next-generation optoelectronic chips including VCSELs and photonic integrated chips for 3D sensing. Drive production ramp-up readiness by coordinating design, process, and equipment specifications with cross-functional teams. Perform design and process sensitivity studies to define spec limits and coordinate correlation studies across chip, sub-assembly, and module levels. Address contract manufacturer issues related to chip performance and facilitate cost modeling for competitive product delivery. Requires flexibility for a 24/7 manufacturing site and clean room environment.
Required Qualifications
- Masters or PhD in electrical engineering, physics, material science or equivalent knowledge/experience
- 10+ years professional experience
- Proficiency with statistical process control, design of experiments, and data base query
- Understanding of device physics and the impact of process parameters on performance
- Experience performing development in a manufacturing environment
- Self-motivated, driven individual with ability to manage multiple projects in a fast pace environment
- Ability to communicate results in a clear, concise, and well-organized manner
- Flexibility to support a 24/7 hour manufacturing site
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 30 lbs
- Ability to adorn clean room environment
- Ability to sit/stand for up to 4 hours at a time

Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with semiconductor wafer fab operations (Manufacturing Execution System, process, and quality control, change management etc.) in a high-volume manufacturing environment is a plus
- Experience with optoelectronic device reliability testing and modeling is a plus
