Job Summary
Support concept development, feasibility studies, and derivative product design using SolidWorks 3D CAD tools. Review and release engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications while defining validation, verification, and qualification plans. Prepare prototypes and pilot builds, providing on-site factory support during ramp-up and first article inspections. Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to develop scalable production processes and resolve technical issues. Maintain regular factory floor presence to troubleshoot challenges, lead root cause analysis, and manage engineering changes. Monitor component obsolescence risks, execute Product Change Notices, and support customer application inquiries. Ensure projects meet performance, quality, cost, and schedule requirements throughout the product lifecycle. Travel domestically and internationally approximately 10% of the time.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling using SolidWorks
- Minimum 2 years of experience as Mechanical Engineer
- Working knowledge of engineering drawing standards (e.g., ASME Y14.5)
- Solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 10%
