Job Summary
Product Development Test Technician responsible for hands-on testing of high-pressure systems, executing test plans, and supporting engineering qualification activities under supervision. Key duties include creating/reading/validating engineering drawings, performing fault-finding on test rigs, working with DAQ hardware/software (National Instruments, FlexLogger, or Yokogawa), driving lean improvements, and leading testing activities with a strong emphasis on safety. Role requires practical engineering knowledge, experience in oil and gas, and willingness to travel domestically and internationally. Travel within the UK and globally as required; interacts with engineers, project teams, and verification authorities; maintains HSE standards and reviews testing procedures annually.
Required Qualifications
- Time-served engineering technician
- Minimum of HNC/HND in a relevant discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
- PC literate with strong data acquisition systems knowledge
- Experience within the oil and gas industry
- Knowledge of data recording systems (experience with National Instruments advantageous)
- Experience with high-pressure systems testing
- Exposure to torque and tensioning equipment
- Electrical instrumentation knowledge
- Welding experience (advantageous)
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
- Willingness to travel domestically and globally as required
