Job Summary
Product Development Technician needed to join the Engineering team and participate in the full product development lifecycle from concept through prototype fabrication, testing, refinement, and production readiness for high-performance climate-control systems in iconic vehicles. Core responsibilities include designing HVAC-related components (compressor and alternator brackets, evaporator/condenser mounts, ducts, and control panels), developing tools/fixtures/molds/prototype hardware, test-fitting prototypes to validate form/fit/function, creating engineering documentation and installation guides, analyzing testing feedback and field data to drive improvements, and identifying opportunities to enhance performance, manufacturability, and efficiency. Must have a technical background in Mechanical, Automotive, or related engineering, 2+ years CAD experience, experience with sheet metal fabrication and multi-material assemblies, working knowledge of automotive A/C systems, ability to create assembly documentation, and a hands-on, collaborative problem-solving mindset with enthusiasm for classic, muscle, and collector vehicles.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanical, Automotive, or related engineering field
- 2+ years of CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication, fixture design, and multi-material assemblies
- Working knowledge of automotive A/C systems (compressors, condensers, evaporators, hoses, and refrigeration components)
- Experience creating technical assembly or installation documentation
- Hands-on, collaborative problem-solver with strong mechanical aptitude
- Enthusiasm for classic, muscle, and collector vehicles
