Product Development Specialist

Product Development Specialist at Pixelle provides technical expertise to develop new specialty paper products and improve existing manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include planning, designing, and conducting experiments and trials to create prototypes that meet targets and timelines, developing new test methods and product specifications, and coordinating pilot coater trials. The role supports procurement and cost-reduction initiatives, strengthens cross-functional collaboration across product development, operations, technical, and sales & marketing, maintains external awareness of new technologies, and tracks project progress using project management methods. Responsibilities also include visiting customers as required and developing relationships to address customer issues and identify opportunities, with emphasis on on-site activities in Spring Grove, PA. The ideal candidate has a degree in paper science or chemical engineering, 3+ years of relevant experience (coatings a plus), strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and interact with customers effectively.
