Job Summary
Research and develop new yarns, stitches, and knit constructions aligned with seasonal direction while evaluating techniques for feasibility and cost. Support sweater development from concept through production approval by preparing development packages, reviewing proto submissions, and tracking vendor timelines. Collaborate with design, merchandising, and overseas vendors to align on needs, troubleshoot construction challenges, and ensure products meet quality and cost targets. Maintain yarn and stitch libraries for ongoing reference. Assist in fittings and sample reviews to verify workmanship standards. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to bring innovative knitwear concepts to life within the Fung Group's global supply chain.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textiles, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in sweater/knitwear development or R&D
- Solid understanding of yarns, gauges, stitches, and knit construction
- Exposure to costing and margin considerations
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with overseas factories preferred
- PLM experience
- Adobe Illustrator proficiency
