Product Development Engineer

Job Summary
Lead blown film development projects including internalization, extrusion trials, and raw material qualification while acting as a technical liaison between Sales, Operations, and external customers. Partner with corporate teams to engineer packaging structures, troubleshoot quality issues on the production floor, and drive cost-reduction strategies through supplier engagement and sourcing optimization. Manage project milestones to ensure successful product implementation and maintain strict adherence to safety and operational policies. This role splits time between the office and manufacturing facilities, requiring regular domestic and international travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field
- At least 5 years of experience in product development, technical service, process control, or quality control
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) with the ability to influence staff, executive leadership, and clients alike
- A proactive, self-motivated professional who exercises sound judgment, thrives under challenge, and can identify operational needs to develop concrete solutions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) and Visio
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and protect sensitive business information
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly, both domestically and internationally, as required by project needs
- Location: Rocky Mount, VA (Highly Preferred)

Desired Qualifications
