Job Summary
Host design reviews and facilitate collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to drive Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) designs from inception to manufacturing. Lead design for manufacturability analyses, manage Bill of Material development, and generate drawing notes to ensure adherence to IPC and MIL specifications. Serve as the liaison between RTX design teams and external suppliers, resolving technical issues, disposing of manufacturing defects, and enabling circuit card assembly testing at vendor sites. Mentor teammates on industry knowledge and incorporate supplier feedback into redesigns to drive continuous improvement. Drive design, procurement, and build schedules to meet program need dates while maintaining alignment across disciplines.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen, U.S. Person, or Immigration Status Requirements: The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Active and existing security clearance required after day 1
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
- Experience to include at least two of the following: PCB manufacturing Circuit card assembly
- Experience with and understanding of IPC and MIL specifications and design guides
Desired Qualifications
- Detailed Circuit Card Assembly process knowledge and the ability to drive the component placement, component selection and material selection and have a positive effect on CCA manufacturability
- Experience achieving alignment and collaboration between the various disciplines within the RTX Design community to achieve organizational and programmatic objectives
- Experience with project coordination and task management
- Can plan projects, with timely engagement of related functions to ensure effective balance of risk and rigor throughout the development process
- Previous experience with RTX Circuit card designs
