Job Summary
Product Development Engineer (Mechanical Design) responsible for concept generation, design, verification and qualification of High Speed IO products (112Gb signaling and beyond). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and customer requirements across electrical, mechanical, and environmental aspects. Lead design reviews, perform FMEA, tolerance analysis, DFM/DFX, GD&T, FEA analyses, and integrate feedback from customers and suppliers. Develop cable assemblies/IO connector systems from proposal to tooling and product qualification, interact with beta-site customers, and drive transition to manufacturing with NPI teams. Requires travel up to 25% and proficiency with SolidWorks, ANSYS, GD&T, and statistical methods.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical discipline, or equivalent engineering course and related work experience
- Minimum of 1-3 years experience
- Familiarity with high speed cable assembly and/or connector design preferred
- Knowledge and experience with design for signal integrity performance is preferred
- Solid Works proficiency
- FEA simulation software (ANSYS preferred)
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Statistical Engineering methods
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%
