Job Summary

Product Development Engineer responsible for all technical aspects of development from research to full production capability, leading development of new plastic closures, vials, and custom packages for healthcare, personal care, food, and spirits; manages design requirements, DFMEA, IP clearance searches, test plans, metrology, and budgeting; leads ideation, design reviews, and customer communications; ensures regulatory and ISO adherence and maintains development milestones within time/cost/scope constraints; collaborates with customers, sales, design engineering, PM, R&D, manufacturing, and commercial development to drive cost targets, performance requirements, and moldability using tools like FEA and MoldFlow; travel as needed (20-50%), aims for data-driven decisions and cross-functional alignment; extensive emphasis on creating and maintaining a current project plan, providing updates to senior management, and ensuring successful sign-off on design and specifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5 years’ experience with injection and/or compression molding
  • Ability to travel as needed (20-50%)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge in statistical methods and programs (SPC/DOE/MiniTab)
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, be a proactive thinker, and be results-oriented
  • Project Management experience a plus
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
