Job Summary
Lead modernization of digital-first products at USAA as a Senior Product Development Director. Responsible for development and launch of innovative product offerings, post-launch monitoring and underwriting considerations, and recommending make/buy/ally decisions. Drive pricing decisions, product economics, and profitability analyses; translate data insights into actionable product strategies. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations through coordination with Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management. Support multiple products across distribution channels and collaborate with cross-functional teams to position new offerings to members. The role requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and 8+ years of relevant experience, with an office-in-person/remote-hybrid schedule (four days in the office per week) and potential based in San Antonio, Plano, Phoenix, Colorado Springs, Chesapeake, or Tampa.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Statistics, or related discipline; OR 4 years of related experience
- Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience in Actuary, Underwriting, Marketing, Operations, Financial Services or relevant military experience
- Extensive experience in developing, deploying and supporting products and/or integrated suite of products
- Experience working through agile product development process
- Knowledge and application of Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC)
- Creative problem solver with hands on experience in problem framing, qualitative & quantitative research, running product experiments, hypothesis testing and prototyping
- Navigates through ambiguous contexts with confidence
- Ability to break large complex initiatives into smaller manageable features and capabilities
- Strong data fluency and pricing/product strategy experience
- Experience partnering across Product, Pricing, Data, Technology, Go-to-Market teams
