Job Summary
Product Designer to drive design throughout the lifecycle, from identifying opportunities and generating concepts to testing, manufacturing, and product launch. Responsibilities include researching market trends and customer requirements, creating design briefs and technical specifications, producing concept designs using sketching, modelling, CAD, and rapid prototyping, selecting materials and manufacturing processes, creating and maintaining technical drawings and documentation, testing prototypes and finished products, producing technical literature and installation guides, providing technical support across the business, supporting manufacturing improvement initiatives, and collaborating with production, quality, supply chain, and commercial teams to ensure successful product delivery. Emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement within a leading UK construction-products context.
Required Qualifications
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Product Design, Industrial Design, Engineering Design, or a related discipline
- Experience using 3D CAD software, ideally Creo Parametric (Pro Engineer)
- Strong understanding of engineering and product development principles
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple departments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite would be advantageous
