Job Summary

Own end-to-end design execution for features and workflows across Built's platform, including draw management, budget tracking, and compliance surfaces. Lead user research activities such as customer interviews, usability tests, and synthesis sessions to deeply understand how lenders, owners, contractors, and inspectors use the system. Create user flows, journey maps, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups with increasing complexity, collaborating closely with product managers and engineers to ensure designs are feasible and implemented with fidelity. Contribute to and maintain the design system by identifying opportunities to improve shared components and patterns. Clearly articulate design decisions and trade-offs to cross-functional stakeholders, incorporating data and behavioral insights to validate and iterate on solutions. Support more junior designers through informal feedback and collaboration, sharing your process and approach openly.

Required Qualifications

  • 2–4+ years of experience in product or UX design within a SaaS or digital product environment
  • Strong proficiency in Figma and prototyping tools
  • Demonstrated ability to handle end-to-end design for product features independently
  • Solid understanding of UX research methods and when to apply them
  • A portfolio showing thoughtful problem-framing and well-executed design solutions
  • A clear and confident communicator who can present work, defend decisions, and incorporate feedback without becoming defensive
  • Travel to Nashville office at least twice per year for company gatherings
  • Additional travel to Nashville may be required based on role and business needs
