Product Designer I
On-site · Austin, Texas, United States
Job Summary
Product Designer I responsible for end-to-end UX work for ICON's BuildOS platform, including discovery research, workflow mapping, wireframes, prototypes, usability testing, and engineering handoff. Drive user interviews with architects, engineers, and builders, map complex construction workflows, create functional designs in Figma, build and test prototypes, and deliver developer-ready specs with acceptance criteria for multiple sprints. Collaborate with engineers, product leadership, and external customers to shape product decisions, align design work to OKRs, and ensure designs are feasible and well-documented for handoff.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years in UX design, product design, or a similar role
- A portfolio showing end-to-end design work — research through shipped product, not visual design alone
- Experience running user interviews and turning qualitative research into design decisions
- Strong fluency with Figma or a similar tool for wireframing, prototyping, and design systems
- Experience designing for workflows with real constraints, not only consumer apps
- Clear communication skills—explain design choices to engineers, leaders, and customers
- Comfort working through ambiguity—define the problem, not just solve a defined one
