Job Summary
Conduct circuit design including schematic capture, PCB layout, and routing using Altium Designer. Prepare engineering documentation, test reports, and maintain bills of materials for product continuity. Support new product launches by collaborating with cross-functional teams and holding design reviews to validate functional and safety standards. Conduct EMC, EFT, and automotive qualification testing while working with embedded firmware teams to select microcontrollers and implement electronic designs. Provide cost and schedule estimates and perform isolated testing to identify continuous improvements or reduce field failures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronic, or related engineering discipline
- Minimum 1 years of industry or relevant electronic design experience
- Consumer electronic product design experience
- New product development experience
- Strong proficiency in Altium Designer, or equivalent electronic CAD program
- Knowledge of motor drive technologies and topologies including: pre-driver theory, MOSFET technologies, motor drive strategies, and motor technologies
- Knowledge of sensor technologies related to position, acceleration, temperature, GPS, IMU, and relevant parameters associated with selection of appropriate sensors
- Knowledge of microcontroller parameters related to selecting components based on specifications and applications
- Familiar with PCB manufacturing processes and fabrication capabilities, specifically as it relates to interfacing with external fabrication houses
- Working knowledge of communication interfaces such as CAN, SPI, I2C, RS232
- Experience with troubleshooting EMC related issues during the certification testing of a product
- Familiar with lithium batteries, battery chargers, battery management
- Knowledge of industry standards such as SAE, ASTM, ISO, and familiarity with ISO9001
- Familiar with ERP systems to control engineering Bills of Materials
- Experience with simulation and scripting languages (Python) to accelerate electronic design and analysis
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronic, or related engineering discipline, English major preferred
